getprotobyname — Get protocol number associated with protocol name

Description

getprotobyname ( string $name ) : int

getprotobyname() returns the protocol number associated with the protocol name as per /etc/protocols.

Parameters

name

The protocol name.

Return Values

Returns the protocol number, or FALSE on failure.
